Amie earned her degree in Marine Affairs and Biology in 1995 at the University of Miami. She worked in the environmental industry for about 10 years conducting environmental assessments and mitigation plans before returning to school for nursing. She earned her nursing degree at Miami-Dade College in 2007 and worked in a medical/surgical Neurosurgical unit before moving to Orlando, Florida in 2009. Her experience in the Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit included over 8 years while eventually pursuing her master's degree/APRN in nursing at the University of South Florida. After completion of her APRN, she has been employed in both Urgent Care and Neurology. She enjoys fishing, gardening and scuba diving
